The national consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.3% in May 2024 compared to the previous month, reaching 107.7 points (December 2020 = 100). Compared to the same month last year, inflation was +1.4%. This is according to figures from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
The Swiss consumer price index is published monthly by the Office of Statistics for Liechtenstein
The increase of 0.3% compared to the previous month is due to various factors, including higher prices for residential rents and package tours abroad. The prices of various fresh vegetables and petrol also rose. By contrast, prices for heating oil and foreign red wine have fallen, as have those in the para-hotel sector.
