The national consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.2% in August 2023 compared to the previous month, reaching 106.4 points (December 2020 = 100). Compared to the same month of the previous year, inflation was +1.6%. This is according to figures from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
The Swiss consumer price index is published monthly by the Office of Statistics for Liechtenstein
The increase of 0.2% compared to the previous month is due to various factors, including higher prices for fuel and heating oil. Residential rents and fees for securities custody accounts also increased. By contrast, rents for private transport and prices for air travel and package tours abroad fell.
